It’s been many years since we last saw Cursive. We’ve seen them a few times, but the only one we’ve documented is with their appearance with At The Drive-In in November 2000: “Anyway, I remember we wanted to check out the opening bands, so we did show up super early to this all-ages show, at First Avenue, to see Cursive and Murder City Devils. Again, absolutely no memory of the songs played (sorry I never took notes or wrote down anything back then), but what I can tell you is that I saw Cursive again in 2012 and the vocals were absolute incredible.”
Needless to say, the band’s been around for a long time… and to be honest, I thought they broke up in 2000. It appears that the group is back again, reforming in 2017.
Nebraska’s Neva Dinova to open. The band recently released Demos and C-Sides a collection of rarities.

David Wax Museum is playing at the Icehouse on May 19, in support of the duo’s new album You Must Change Your Life (Nine Mile Records).
The album’s title comes from a near death experience when David Wax suffered a sudden and inexplicable collapse. “Lying there on that stretcher the thing that kept running through my mind was: at least we made You Must Change Your Life,” Wax recalls. “Whatever else happened, I felt at peace because this record exists.”
Neopolitan to open.
