For those unfamiliar, it's time to get familiar with Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside. The Portland-based quartet flawlessly blend swinging roots rock, jazz and new soul with a contemporary lyrical stance brimming with the fire of youth and rebellion. I like to say that Sallie Ford's voice lives somewhere between Ella Fitzgerald and Tom Waits.
Their new album Dirty Radio is out now on Partisan Records.
Their new video for "I Swear" premiered on Mashable last week. Director Matthew Ross had this to say about the video, "High schoolers, hipsters, parents or even my grandparents could hear them and really enjoy it. They’re kind of timeless. So I thought showing them playing throughout the generations of the rock genre would be a perfect fit.”
