It looks like we're getting a Funko Pop of Justice League of America #217 as an exclusive for Target in America. For sticker collectors, I believe the same exclusive is available for Canada via GameStop (Canada). I am not a fan of the Funko look, but I will likely get this for the George Perez cover... however at the shocking price of $30, I am having second thoughts.

Superman & the Justice League Get New Heroic Funko Pop Comic Cover Ahead of Their DCU Debut

The DCU is finally taking shape with the release of Creature Commandos on Max late last year and Superman hitting theaters this summer. The latter’s marketing campaign is speeding up with trailers and images. What is sure to follow soon is all the merchandise attached to the new DCU. Funko has already started the party with their recent Creature Commandos Pop set. Now, before Superman returns to the big screen, he’s taken flight with the Justice League in their latest comic cover set.

A part of the annual Target Con, the new Funko Pop Comic Cover is based on DC’s Justice League of America #217 by artist George Perez from 1983. That cover featured Superman flying alongside Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Red Tornado, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Black Canary. The figure in the protective case recreates the Man of Steel’s pose from the iconic image. This will be a Target exclusive and available in stores soon. Funko looks to have a big DC presence in 2025. This comic cover now joins their new Superman: The Movie and DC Pride Pop collections.

WHO IS DEATHSTROKE?
Defined primarily by his combat skills, Deathstroke has lost many things, from his right eye to his ex-wife to his powers when the Great Darkness was purged from his body, going through various stages within the DC Comics universe. However, one thing remains true: Deathstroke continues to be one of the most effective and dangerous assassins in the world, and there aren't many victims who would (or could) disagree with that statement.

EXPLORING THE DEATHSTROKE STATUE:
Standing on an eagle-shaped gargoyle, we see Deathstroke with his right hand drawing his favorite sword from a sheath on his back, while holding a rifle in his left hand. Armed and ready, his posture is imposing, allowing for a clear view of the details of his orange, blue, and black armor, partly made from a material called Promethium, a fictional and artificial alloy capable of absorbing energy, known as the strongest metal in the DC universe. And this is how we present Deathstroke – DC Comics Series #9 – Art Scale 1/10 by Iron Studios, with all the importance and prominence the character deserves.

FIGURE DETAILS:
Measuring 10.2 in (H) x 4.4 in (W) x 5.3 in (D) – 1.4 lb., the statue is part of the Art Scale 1/10 line, ideal for collectors who need flexibility in terms of space but still demand the quality in details and elements.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The statue comes with two heads: one with his iconic mask, and one without it. In the masked version the back band is blown by the wind, while in the unmasked version, we get to see the details of Slade Wilson’s face, including his eye patch.

MATERIALS AND FINISHING OF THE PIECE:
Following the quality standards of the Art Scale 1/10 line by Iron Studios, the Deathstroke – DC Comics Series #9 – Art Scale 1/10 statue will also be produced using the same materials, with Polystone as the main component. It may also include parts made from resin, PVC, metal, and fabric to enhance its structure and raise the immersion of the representation.

Continuing the releases from DC Comics Series #9 characters, the statue was revealed during the Inside Iron Studios Day in January 2025. This is the second representation of Deathstroke from the comics made by Iron Studios; the last one was released during Series #2, many years ago.

Other figures includes ROM, Banshee, Miles Morales, Daken, and Ultimate Iron Man. They will be available Spring 2025 and will retail for $25 each. I will be picking up ROM and Adam Warlock.

I don't know why they split the money up, because Wizard of the Coast and Hasbro are the same company (Hasbro owns Magic Cards). In total it is nearly $2 million dollars. Incidentally, I love my Thanos action figure, but I didn't buy it through Diamonds.

Excerpt: Having been a big player in the comic and game distribution industry for years, Diamond Comic Distributors has now "filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11." In other words, bankruptcy. Diamond had managed to accrue upwards of $50 million in debts including over $1 million and $900,000 to Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, respectively, and is now unable to continue operations as normal.

Cross sell art for Hot Wheels Marvel Comics

I was at Walmart the other day and saw these Avengers related Hot Wheels cars (under the Hot Wheels Premium branding). I wanted to buy the Hiway Hauler 2, which features George Perez's Taskmaster art taken from the cover of AVENGERS #196 (Jun 1980), but that particular car had sold out. I'm still on the hunt for this car.

This isn't the first Hot Wheels car to feature Taskmaster... in January 2021, we saw the movie version of Taskmaster on a Hot Wheels car with "First Appearance" applied to the label. Obviously, it's not George Perez's art, nor is it based on George Perez's designs.

Also, worth noting, is that Infinity Gauntlet (Thanos) was featured on the Horseplay Hot Wheels as a chase car in April 2018.
