Since I'm no longer working at DC, and with all the changes that have happened since I was first given this story, I think I'm pretty safe in assuming that these pages will never get published.
I was told that the story was all ready to go when I agreed to do this, but the editors decided that plot changes needed to be made and thus I could only produce these 8 pages and waited for months for the revisions that never came. I finally had to find other work and this story just got forgotten to death.
While not much really happens in these pages, I did try to add some visual pizzazz where I could. If nothing else, it's a good conversation starter for those who like to ponder what could have been.
There were some revisions to be made with the first page, so I started on Page 2. I modeled the lead female here after a dear friend named Miracole Burns. I feel bad that she never got to make it into print here, but I will make it up to her in SHE-DEVILS, wherein she is one of the title characters.

Q (Mark Wood): George, I seem to recall that you said you did a fill in issue of Supergirl and Birds of Prey. I know the Supergirl issue came out, but I don't recall the Birds of Prey ever being released. Did you do an issue? If so I assume it was never released.
A (George Pérez): While I did draw about eight pages of the BIRDS OF PREY story, due to the state of confusion over at DC (a lot of that was going on and probably still is) I was told that the script would need to be re-written due to more continuity changes being made in the new 52 Universe after the script had already been approved. I waited for months for the revised script, but in the morass of confusion within the company, I never received it and the project just died from neglect. Sorry.

November 30, 2011 | George Pérez to draw Supergirl
From George Pérez
Just submitted the plot to SUPERMAN #6, my final issue. Now I have to dialogue Issue 5 (working over Nicola Scott's gorgeous pencils) and then I will be finishing the pencils to an inventory BIRDS OF PREY story before I go on to draw an issue of SUPERGIRL. After that– well you'll just have to wait and see! ;-)"

Tonight, as I get closer to finishing my run on SUPERMAN and prepare for my next project (still only in the negotiation stage right now) I am starting to pencil an inventory issue of BIRDS OF PREY-- just so I can draw some nice looking babes!
