ALEX G and PORCHES
with Your Friend
at 7th Street Entry
Wednesday, 04/06/16, 7:30pm ($12/$14)
first-avenue.com
Alex G (Alex Giannascoli - not to be confused with singer/songwriter Alex G) just released
Beach Music... his seventh full-length album, and his first Domino release. He’s obviously not used to recording in a studio, saying, “I was really nervous—usually, I’d just do everything myself and then put it out myself. I have this really precise vision and the best understanding of what I want to do.”
Co-headlining will be
Porches, the project of Aaron Maine. He’s currently touring in support of his Domino Records
Pool, which came out February 5th. The record was called “Best New Music” from Pitchfork, as well as Harper's Bazaar listed Pool’s "10 Albums You Need To Listen To This February."
The third Domino artist,
Your Friend (in support of her debut album
Gumption), will open the show.

UNDEROATH
at Skyway Theatre
Wednesday, 04/06/16, 6:30pm ($25/$30)
skywaytheater.com
Underoath was a staple in my playlists growing up. They broke up a few years ago and the members joined other projects. They announced a reunion tour called “Rebirth” out of nowhere and will be playing at the Skyway Theater on Wednesday, April 6th.
As if a reunion tour is not good enough, they will be playing
They're Only Chasing Safety and
Define the Great Line from front-to-back. These albums defined the band and have influenced many of the bands to come after them.
Caspian is listed to open. The band was previously in town with O’Brother and Defeater at
Triple Rock Social Club in February 2016.

April 1 Boise, ID Knitting Factory
April 2 Salt Lake City, UT The Complex

HAR MAR SUPERSTAR
at Turf Club
Wednesday, 04/06/16, 7pm ($20)
turfclub.net
Har Mar Superstar (aka Sean Tillmann) is back with
Best Summer Ever. The album will be available April 15, 2016 on Cult Records, LLC... but you can expect to hear preview of the new songs on this upcoming show on Wednesday, April 6th at the Turf Club in St Paul.
The new record’s theme is like a Greatest Hits of Har Mar Superstar from the years 1950 to 1985... which is kind of funny since Har Mar didn’t exist as a name until 1999. Long-time friend Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes), helped Tillmann bring his vision to life.
Opening will be locals
Invisible Boy (not the Australian band) and
Cherry Cola (the new solo project from Stereo Confession).
