Young Widows
|
Minus the Bear is a bit of a supergroup, featuring various band members of Botch, Kill Sadie and Sharks Keep Moving, and other side projects. If you follow Seattle's music scene, you've probably heard of Minus the Bear and their almost cult-like status. Although their albums broke in the Billboard 200 and they consistently sell out 1000 cap venues, the band remained relatively independent... and that's just how their fans would like it.
In addition to latest Lost Loves compilation, this was a tour was also for the ten year anniversary of their third EP They Make Beer Commercials Like This, which originally came out in 2004 (but re-released in 2008 by Suicide Squeeze Records).

The rest of their set were various classic tracks from the band's back catalogue, with plenty of hits, including "Dr. L'Ling" and "Knights", which got some of the loudest cheer from the audience.
If you ever wanted to hear They Make Beer Commercials Like This live, you definitely need to catch Minus the Bear on this tour. Young Widows' last date with the band will be in Des Moines, which Minus the Bear's singer Jake Snider commented that they will surely be missed.
