With the advent of a new year and new decade and the Kansas City Chiefs on the cusp of a first Super Bowl appearance in fifty years, WeHeartMusic is pleased to announce our event coverage is extending several hours south of our Minneapolis HQ, to now include Kansas City (Kansas and Missouri), nearby Bonner Springs, Lawrence, KS, and even the occasional show in Topeka, KS!

Look for the Kansas City Bureau Office to keep you in the loop on concerts and pop culture happenings in the area, alongside everything else you loyal readers have tuned into, since we began our invasion of the interwebs way back in 2007.

We already began our KC area coverage with an entertaining and intimate show from Ultravox singer, Midge Ure and are looking forward to much more to come!

You know, we love Juliana Hatfield. We’ve been following her since Blake Babies and followed her career in The Lemonheads and solo releases… to her most popular as The Juliana Hatfield Three (with smash hit song, “My Sister”). I still have the ticket stub to her show in June 1995.

For this upcoming tour, Hatfield will be playing some The Police songs (from her latest project Juliana Hatfield Sings the Police) … perhaps we’ll also see her play some Olivia Newton-John songs too…

British singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka will play the Palace Theatre on Monday, February 3rd. The show is sold out.

We saw him in 2013 and said, “Drawing comparisons to Otis Redding and Bill Withers, Kiwanuka manages to bring a style that is his own- humble and natural; a distinctive voice, with smooth grooved songs that show obvious staying power. Opening with ‘If You’d Dare’, he next segued into ‘Tell Me a Tale’, a spirited song that has received local radio airplay and which got the crowd in his corner going forward. A pleasant take on Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Waterfall’ revealed the singer’s obvious affection for the guitar hero, and he did the song ample justice.”
