Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage This I tell you, brother You can't have one without the other. - Frank Sinatra |
I was watching a recent documentary on Bruce Lee called I Am Bruce Lee (watch the trailer ), and it brought up the fact that Lee had an interracial marriage to Linda Cadwell. Did you know that prior to 1967, it was illegal!? Can you imagine the world today if it was still a crime?
In some ways, the same battle is being fought now with recognizing same-sex marriages (and apparently, in many states, we're losing).
FREEDOM TO LOVE NOW!

THE KENNEDYS
kennedysmusic.com
Not all Kennedys are politicians, you know. This is a folk-rock band of husband (Pete) and wife (Maura). The married couple met working as Nanci Griffith's band, so it's no surprise that the couple normally open up for Griffith as a support band. They were supposed to do a 2012 tour, but due to health issues, Griffith has canceled her appearances.
As far as I know, The Kennedys are doing these dates below, promote their latest album, Closer Than You Know.

FAMILY BAND
familybandfamily.com
Family Band is indeed a 'family band,' consisting of wife and husband, Kim Krans and Jonny Ollsin. Their sophomore album, Grace & Lies, just came a few months ago (July 24th) via No Quarter.
You can catch the music video for "Moonbeams" on Youtube. Regarding their skele costumes, Ollsin had this to say, "Kim (Krans) painted a skeleton costume . . . we went to an epic dance party and I shot some footage of her dancing. We realized that skeletons doing anything is awesome, so we just added a little love story and mischief to it."
I suspect they'll be wearing their skeleton costumes at their upcoming live date.

THUS:OWLS
thusowls.com
Husband and wife, Simon and Erika Angell are the driving creative team behind Thus:Owls. The couple will be releasing Harbours on October 2nd, 2012, via Avalanche.
It's said that singer Erika is often compared Björk, and you can hear for yourself when you see them on this tour. They're doing a few dates with Patrick Watson, who I saw earlier this year.
