The most wonderful time of the year! Each week in December, I will be bringing attention to some Christmas-related songs that I receive in my inbox. If you don't see your Xmas song here, just keep sending me reminders until December 24th.

CAITLIN ROSE

Wow, the beautiful and young Caitlin Rose reminds me of a beautiful and young Emma Anderson (of Lush). She has an exclusive song "You Never Come Home for Christmas" via RCRD LBL. It is a free download if you have a registered account... or if you're too lazy, you can just stream it. I didn't look too much into it, but I suspect the song is a cover. Rose is also heard singing this song as a duet with Keegan Dewitt.
Caitlin Rose's album, Own Side Now, was recently listed in Time Magazine's top 10 albums of the year. They described her voice "like a winsome version of Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis".
THE HIT MEN

As mentioned on the Huff Po, these are "renowned hitmakers of the 60s, 70s, & 80s". In case you were wondering, the superband consists of Lee Shapiro, Don Ciccone, Larry Gates, Gerry Polci, Jimmy Ryan and Russ Velazquez.
Their debut album, The Hit Men Live will be out on EMI on February 28th, 2012, and they're going on tour to support it (see dates below). Not clear if their song, "A Four Seasons Christmas" will be on it or not.
WOODS
facebook.com/woodsfamilyband
Christmas time is here! Or rather there, on Pitchfork.
To celebrate their December tour dates (see listing below), Woods does his Charlie Brown/Vince Guaraldi impression.
Woods' 6th LP is called Sun & Shade, kind of an ironic title to be playing in the cold, cold winter:
PS, Before I go, I just wanted to briefly mentioned that Wedneday, December 28th is DEMO and The Comic Avengers presents: "An Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" at Wild Tymes! Show is, I am assuming, in Minneapolis, at 8pm, suggestion donation is $5, but you can pay more!
Also, our favorite Swedes at Labrador is selling all their CDs albums for 9 Euros throughout December (ends on the 27th). Prices includes shipping everywhere (including Anartica and the USA). Not sure what to get? How about Club 8?
