We've been following Mazzy Star for a while now, particularly since they've reformed and announced a new record (nevermind that it's been 17 years!)
The new fourth studio album Seasons Of Your Day was released in September, co-written by Hope Sandoval and David Roback, and was recorded in California and Norway. All the original band members came on board for recording, plus surprise guest Colm O’Ciosoig (My Bloody Valentine) and the late, Bert Jansch (who passed away October 5, 2011).

You may recall that we caught The Entrance Band (at least singer Guy Blakeslee) when he opened up for Cat Power. This time around, he will actually have a full backing band of Paz Lenchantin on bass and Derek James on drums.
Look for their new album Face The Sun on November 19th via Beyond Beyond is Beyond.

The New York-based Psychic Ills will be taking over the rest of the Mazzy Star support starting November 12th, in Minneapolis' Mill City Nights.
The band first came together with their debut Dins in 2006, and since then released four albums, their latest is One Track Mind, out now on Sacred Bones. SPIN called the new album "another serpentine set of psychedelic rumble," so it should be interesting to see and hear the contrast of psych rock vs shoegazing dreampop.
