Proclaimers had a pretty long set, and surprisingly effective with just one acoustic guitar. They were supposed to get off the stage after their set time, but they threw in "500 Miles" for good measure. And the audience went absolutely NUTS …

The Proclaimers are real-life Scottish twin brothers, Charlie and Craig Reid. They had a massive hit with "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" in America, and they are currently on tour in support of their latest album, Like Comedy , which just came out last week (April 9, 2013), via 429 Records.
I unexpectedly saw the twins at the Scottish Showcase at SXSW, but was pleased that they sneak in their big hit song (otherwise, I'll bet there would've been a revolt at the show!)
Expect the band to play songs from Like Comedy as well as their big hits like 500 Miles, "Sunshine on Leith" and "Letter from America". Current dates below:

Live in Minneapolis and can't afford the $25 clams to see Johnny Marr play non-Smiths songs on his The Messenger tour? No problem, if you've nothing on April 23rd from 1pm - 3pm, you can swing over to Twin Town Guitars on Lyndale to meet the legendary guitarist in person.
Unless I get "sick and ill" on that day, I won't be able to make it to the guitar shop. If you're going, I would suggest bringing some old Smiths 12" … but maybe leave "Shoplifters of the World Unite" at home.

Say Lou Lou are Australian/Swedish twins. While working on their debut album, due out later this year, the sibling established their own record label called à Deux. Look for their first release as a single called "Julian" on May 6th (digitally and vinyl). U.S. fans will need to check with Downtown Record for distribution.
In the meantime, check out this remix of "Julian" by Monsieur Adi, via Soundcloud.
PS, I don't normally mention bands unless they have a cover artwork (no artwork was given for this release), but I like these girls and will forgive them.
