Cristina Perri's debut album, lovestrong, released last month (May 10th) on Atlantic Records, is doing pretty well on the charts (reached #4 on the Billboard's Top 200).
This is especially cool since Glee featured her song "Jar of Hearts" on the same week's show for "Prom Queen".
On a side note, since I'm talking about Glee. Columbia Records is kind of me, they send me all the Glee music, which I have been enjoying. I kind of went nuts one day and queued up all the Glee songs I have (about 100 songs!) and "Jar of Hearts" was one of the one that really stood out for me (that song and "To Sir With Love", "Hell to the No", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Need You Now" if you needed some advice on the best songs). All of the songs are available on iTunes, and Jar of Hearts is top of the charts.
Anyway, going back to Perri, she's on tour to promote lovestrong, below are the Summer dates. I am certain if it goes well, there will be more dates to be added. I'll pencil in August 7th for Minneapolis, I'm pretty sure it will sell out. What doesn't make any sense is that it's listed she'll be in Chicago at Lollapalooza on the same date (August 7). There's no way she'll appear at both shows... unless she has her own private jet. Anyway, she'll love the Cedar Cultural Center, it's a beautiful venue.

Katy Perry needs no introduction.
As long as I can remember, I've always liked Katy Perry. I've even going on record as calling "Hot N Cold" a fun song.
Well. Last month, she was holding the top four spots for most popular song spin in history! Starting with "Teenage Dream" (another Glee popular song), then "Fireworks" (not one of my favorite Perry song, too repetitive!), then "California Gurls", and finally with "E.T." (featuring Kanye West).
Anyway, she's going to be touring for her album, Teenage Dream with Sweden's Robyn on most dates! I also love Robyn. Since she's playing stadium-sized venue, tickets are probably very expensive (definitely out of my price range). If you're feeling generous, you can get exlusive tickets at www.ticketsforcharity.com, which portion of the ticket prices actually will benefit Perry's three charities: Generosity Water, The Humane Society of the United States, and the Children’s Health Fund.

Chances are, if you like 90s 4AD lushy ethereal, dreamy, shoegazing type of music, you were probably a fan of Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins. Guess what? They are both on tour. Well sort of. On the Dead Can Dance part is Brendan Perry (whom I've mentioned briefly before) and on the Cocteau Twins is Robin Guthrie. What's Elizabeth Fraser up to these days anyway?
Anyroad, Perry's album is called Ark, which the Irish Independent is saying "doesn't disappoint" and "labour of love".
Well, if I lived anywhere near these venues below, you know I would totally try to see them.
