Recently, nerdcore got a bad rap (bad pun, get it?) when Jeopardy’s Alex Trebek called nerdcore for “losers”. I honestly don’t know why people are so upset about it, he was only joking. You have to understand that Trebek is really that deadpan, even when making bad jokes.

Anyway, in 2008, we highly recommended buying MC Chris’s MC Chris Is Dead album: “So mc chris has an excellent new album out. It's called mc chris is dead, so go buy it, quickly now!”

The Los Angeles-based rapper, animator, gamer and Nerdcore pioneer is back with MC Chris is Dreaming (lowercase stylizing as mc chris is dreaming). Once again, he’ll make you laugh as he raps about Freddy Krueger or Netflix. Do you remember when DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince wrote “A Nightmare on My Street”?

MC Lars is one of the opener. We previously wrote about him in July 2015, when he was touring in promotion of The Dinosaur Zombie LP: “The title The Dinosaur Zombie LP might seem a bit random at a cursory glance, combining the obvious touchstones of Jurassic Park with The Walking Dead, but the meaning goes deeper.”

Mega Ran to open. The last time I heard from Mega Ran, it was for a promotional video for his song ‘Mackerel Sky’. Around the same time (February 2016), he was actually touring with MC Lars, so the two are old friends.

Niykee Heaton is currently on her “Centerfold” tour and will be stopping by the Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis next Tuesday, November 8th.

Niykee’s hit single ‘Bad Intentions’ has been certified Gold by the RIAA and now has more than 42 million streams on Spotify. Fans includes Lena Dunham, who recently wrote, “'Bad Intentions'...worked its way under my skin...an aching meditation on what it means to self-destruct.”
