My theory about repeating band names is that people tend to remember them if bands repeat their name. Remember Duran Duran? Yeah Yeah Yeahs?

DJANGO DJANGO
djangodjango.co.uk
Do you remember listening to Brody talk about SXSW 2012? Django Django was his number one band as far as "Best Performances" goes.
The London-based quartet is in the middle of their world tour in support of their debut 2012 album… hitting the United States in March.
Although Django Django lost out to Alt-J for the Mercury Music Prize, being nominated for 2012 was a boon for the band. Other publications like Rolling Stones, Entertainment Weekly, and WNYC have all put Django Django on their 'best of' 2012 list.
I have not seen them live, but their buzz will make me break my winter hibernation to check them out when they arrive in Minneapolis on March 16th.

EVERYTHING EVERYTHING
everything-everything.co.uk
Manchester's Everything Everything is currently on tour for the second album, Arc (out now on RCA Victor), the follow-up to their debut Geffen Records' Man Alive. If record label switching is your thing, you'd be happy to know that their latest US debut EP, Cough Cough is out now on Julian Casablancas' Cult Records and Kemosabe Records.
If you're lucky enough to live in Los Angeles or New York City, the band has confirmed those two dates so far. More dates to follow.
As for the UK dates, every date is "completely SOLD OUT". This tells me that they are massive or that they are booking very small venues for their fanbase size.
Everything Everything's next single is called "Duet", and you can hear it now on soundcloud.com.

RA RA RIOT
rarariot.com
It's been a while since I last written about Ra Ra Riot. I saw them a few years ago when they opened up for the silly-named band Death for Cutie.
Barsuk Records just released Ra Ra Riot's new album Beta Love on January 22nd, and, yes, of course, they're on tour to promote the album. What's interesting to note is that with Beta Love, this mark the band's new synthypop music direction and as a four-piece (with cellist Alexandra Lawn leaving the band).
Bassist Mathieu Santos talks about the creative process of recording of Beta Love, "Making the record was a lot of fun for us, because we were in a completely different environment, trying a completely new approach. We'd been used to arriving at a session with every song totally arranged and figured out, but in Oxford, a lot of the creative decision-making happened in the studio, on the fly. We wanted to be outside of our collective comfort zone for this record. We wanted to be open to new things happening. There was a lot of building up and tearing down with [Producer Dennis Herring] —a lot of problem solving, a lot of trial and error, and that was really exciting for us."
