Sweden’s The Radio Dept. is back in the USA. They’ll be playing the Triple Rock Social Club on Friday. The duo (Johan Duncanson and Martin Carlberg) is touring in support of Running Out Of Love, available now on our favorite Swedish label Labrador Records.

Brooklyn’s Germans (Julia Kwamya) will open.

Lake Street Dive (named after Minneapolis’ Lake Street dive bar area) is back with Side Pony (Nonesuch Records). The popular band was invited to play at the White House and sold out 42 shows in 2016. With high ticket demands, the band (and venue) decided to play a two-night residency at First Avenue.

Opening special guest is singer/songwriter Joey Dosik.

03/02/17 Police singer Sting is playing the Myth. I consider this a “small” venue for this legendary singer, so I’m assuming it is sold out (without even checking). Joe Sumner and The Last Bandoleros to open.

03/02/17 Death By Unga Bunga is headlining 7th Street Entry. I haven’t confirmed it, but I believe their name a punchline to a bad joke. Do you choose death or Unga Bunga?

03/03/17 Music producer Illenium (Denver based Nick Miller) is touring in support of his new single ‘Fractures ft. Nevve’ (Seeking Blue and Kasaya Records). Illenium is stopping by Skyway Theatre on Friday, with opener Said The Sky.

03/03/17 Australian band Sticky Fingers is headlining the 7th Street Entry. They were supposed to actually play the venue in October 2016, but they had to cancel and reschedule the show to Friday, March 3rd.

The last time we saw Cymbals Eat Guitars in July 2015, we reported that the band mentioned that this may be their last performance because the singer / guitarist Joseph D’Agostino was going back to school. Perhaps it didn’t happen yet, but the band is back now on tour.

Cymbals Eat Guitars’ fourth album Pretty Years is out now. The new record was inspired by Springsteen, 70's Bowie, The Smiths, The Cure, and Neil Young.

Field Mouse and Wildhoney will open.
