For whatever reason, this show was originally listed with The Acacia Strain to headline. The truth is, the show is actually for darkwave band She Wants Revenge.
We’ve written about the duo (Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin) over a decade ago… of course 11 years ago, they were “the hottest thing out there”.
Even though the group broke up (“short hiatus”) after their last studio album Valleyheart (2011), their popularity rose again after their hit song “Tear You Apart” appeared on American Horror Story: Hotel in 2015 (starring Lady Gaga!)
Earlier this Summer, the band announced their new EP Up and Down, which sounds so different (the band self-described the music as “something more along the lines of something that sounded closer to what might have come out of Minneapolis.”) that they were almost considering releasing it under a different name. They’re clearly influenced by Prince on this EP, so it should be a really fun show at the Varsity Theater this Friday.

Walking Dead star Emily Kinney is coming to the Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St Paul. Although I stopped watching the AMC show because of bad storyline, Kinney’s character (Beth Greene) died well before Negan showed up and made the show terrible.
We caught her at SXSW 2014 and wrote, “Cute pop songs about boyfriends, love and getting married.”
