How Nectar came into existence was that she was helping fellow Argentinian Federico Aubele record his album Panamericana for ESL Music in Washington DC.

You know things are going to get intimate when the title of the show is called "ESL Presents: An evening with Federico Aubele", at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, May 2nd, 2011.
There was an unannounced third act, not on the bill. Forgive me if I did not catch his name, it was just a guy and his guitar, singing songs about life. One of his song was about sitting around and smoking pot, I thought that was the most memorable song of the set. I think his stage name was something sun or was it son?
Next up was Jake's A Higgla, a trio that only plays instrumentals. It was very rhythm-based with ambient music. It was a little surf, a little experimental, lots of pedal pushing. This is the kind of music you put on when you're relaxing to a cookie.
I've previously mentioned Federico Aubele, a few times, but they were mostly in reference to other artists that tours with him. What that means is Aubele is on tour a lot!
This time, he's touring for his latest release, Berlin 13 out last March.
I liked the first song played, which is listed as "Berlin", but when it's done live, he medley in Iggy Pop and The Stooges' "The Passenger": "I am a passenger, and I ride and I ride". And with that, we sat back and enjoyed the show.
As you can see from the setlist, the majority of the songs played were from Berlin 13, including "Berlin", "No One", "In Your Name", "13", and "Bohemian Rhapsody In Blue".
Not surprising, and missing, were his duets with Natalia Clavier ( I love her last album).
Encore was "Diario De Viaje", from Aubele's Gran Hotel Buenos Aires.
If you enjoy Spanish pop songs, with some dub and reggae and ambient, you should definitely want to check out Federico Aubele. His latest album, Berlin 13 is out now on ESL Records.
