SHARON JONES AND THE DAP-KINGS
sharonjonesandthedapkings.com
We have been supporting and writing about Sharon Jones since 2007, so, yes we like her very much.
If you've seen Sharon Jones recently, you may notice she's being treated for stage two pancreatic cancer. The chemotherapy has caused her to lose her hair, at least temporarily. Based on her recent live performance on CBS' YouTube Page and their recent cover of "Goldfinger" for The Wolf of Wall Street, I can tell you that the disease has not slowed down this power-house soul singer.
In addition to the CBS morning show, the band has also appeared on other shows like Conan O'Brien, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show.
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings are heading out on tour this Spring 2014, in support of their latest album Give The People What They Want. Based on all the television appearances, attendance will be more than good at their upcoming show, so get your tickets now before they sell out.

JESUS JONES
jesusjones.com
If you grew up in the 90s with alternative British bands, chances were, you probably love Dodgy, Shed Seven, Chumbawamba, The Wonder Stuff, Levellers, Inspiral Carpets, and, of course, Jesus Jones.
If you thought Jesus Jones were nothing more than a one-hit-wonder band, you are wrong. They actually had several big numbers, I can remember seeing the videos for "Right Here, Right Now", "Real, Real, Real", and "International Bright Young Thing" on MTV (back when the cable channel would actually play music).
The Wiltshire-based group reformed and officially went out on tour last year (December 2013) as part of The Wonder Stuff's "Sleigh The UK" tour. Then January 1st, 2014, the band announced that the original drummer Simon 'Gen' Matthews was due to return!
Look for the band to play their biggest hit album Doubt in full this year. They are schedule to at least appear on three music festival in 2014, so perhaps they may do a few side-gigs around those dates.

STONE JACK JONES
stonejackjones.com
Nashville's Stone Jack Jones recently shared his new video for his lead single "State I'm In" with Stereogum. Look for Stone Jack Jones' third full-length album, Ancestor, on March 4th, 2014, via Western Vinyl Records. You can hear the track on Soundcloud.
Ancestor was produced with Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater Kinney, They Might Be Giants) and features collaborations with Patty Griffin, Lambchop's Ryan Norris, Scott Martin, Kurt Wagner, and Lylas' Kyle Hamlett. The album, as Lambchop's Kurt Wagner describes it, is "long and languid, moving none too fast, there's alcohol and rope in the air. There ought to be a place, a bar, or barn, where this music plays from p.a. suspended in the middle of the room like those ones they used in the civil defense strapped to polls in the neighborhoods of the 60s, 50s...Fan shaped horns arranged in a center cluster...there's nostalgic allusion and ghostly nods to a world only Jack knows, and perhaps his god knows."
