The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is back on tour with a new upcoming album The Echo of Pleasure, due due Sept. 1 on the band's own Painbow label. Limited editions includes gold metallic vinyl with gold foil stamped packaging.
We first wrote about the band in 2007, describing them as “If you're into noisy indie-pop, you will probably like The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. On the surface the loud, fuzzy guitars may remind one of The Jesus and Mary Chain or My Bloody Valentine, but the underlying melodies and vocals are more dreamy and "poppy". The band's influences include The Pastels, The Exploding Hearts, The Ramones, Black Tambourine, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.”
Beverly and Ablebody to open. The former, Beverly, made it on our 2014 Best Of List.

The Secret Sisters recently released their New West Records debut, You Don’t Own Me Anymore, earlier this week (June 9th). The 12-song set was produced by Brandi Carlile & her collaborators Tim and Phil Hanseroth, and is Laura and Lydia Rogers’ first new record in over three years (which we wrote about in 2013)
As with the new album the duo will be hitting the road, stopping by Minneapolis’ Cedar Cultural Center this Saturday, June 24th.
