The Band of Merrymakers is actually a Supergroup, of sorts, consisting of an ever rotating-cast of established musicians, such as Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, Fitz of Fitz and The Tantrums, Nick Hexum of 311, Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra, Smallpools, The Mowgli's, 3oh!3, Sinclair, and The Honeymoons.
The secret origins of the band came together when hit songwriters Sam Hollander and Kevin Griffin were deep in the midst of a heated, decade-old holiday music debate (Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" or "A Very Special Christmas" compilations benefitting the Special Olympics) when they both suddenly wondered: where has all the holiday musical philanthropy gone?
The debut single "Must Be Christmas" (The End Records) is available now and will benefit MusiCares Foundation, a nonprofit organization that was established by The Recording Academy to provide a wide range of emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to members of the music community.

Ohio, although I think he may be currently based in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Front Porch Step (aka Jake Mcelfresh) recently premiered his version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas", the track was taken from his forthcoming EP, Whole Again (out on December 2nd via Pure Noise Records). The EP is a followup to his 2013 album Aware .
Looking over his touring schedule, I don't think he'll actually be 'home' for the holiday...

Multi ARIA award-winning Christine Anu recently released Island Christmas (Social Family Records).
The festive-themed album features standards such as "Silent Night" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas", but also some original Christmas songs, like the title track "Island Christmas" (featuring Christine’s children Kuiam and Zipporah).
"I wrote the title track when my kids and their friends and cousins were quite young – we love singing - and I’d always get them to sing along with me. So even though they’re now a lot older, the inclusion of their voices on the album is incredibly nostalgic for me – it’s what Christmas is all about, in creating and recalling special memories each year," said Christine.
