Read More My Gold Mask just kicked off their co-headline National tour with California Wives last week (June 20th). The duo (Jack and Gretta) talked about their tour …

California Wives and My Gold Mask are currently on tour together this summer. Both bands stopped by the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis last night, as part of their tour.
We've written about My Gold Mask before, but I don't think that would prepare us to see how feisty singer Gretta gets on stage. You can tell they love performing on stage.
In addition to playing songs off their latest album Leave Me Midnight (like "Nightfalls "), the band also showcased a brand new song, I believe it is called "Dangerous". Their 45-minute set also included some older classics from their catalog, including "Violent Eyes" from 2010's A Thousand Voices EP and one of their first song, "Bitches", from their debut self-titled 2009 album.
As for California Wives, the band is from Chicago, and is now in the category of those bands that aren't from their names, like We're from Barcelona, Of Montreal, and, of course, ASIA.
The band played songs off their debut album Art History, including "Purple" (maybe they dedicated this one to Prince?), "Marianne", "The Fisher King", "Tokyo", etc. My favorite of their set is "Los Angeles", with the tambourine really tidy up the song.
California Wives and My Gold Mask are currently on tour. They are in Kansas City, Missouri, tonight, and you know what they say: "Missouri loves company."
