Breaking Benjamin Setlist

Around 3,200 fans converged on the Myth Nightclub in Maplewood, MN to see Breaking Benjamin, 10 Years, and Starset. It was a Sunday night and it was more than sold out. The bands all seemed more than happy with the turnout, as they should have.
Starset started off the show. These guys came out and turned heads instantly with their look and sound. These guys seemed to be the odd balls out of the line-up. Their sound was much more electronic than that of the other two bands. Not only was their sound much different, so was their look.
Both 10 Years and Breaking Benjamin looked like your typical rock bands dressed down in jeans and shirts. Starset came out looking like they came from some other planet. They had light up gas masks on along with a jumpsuit complete with backpacks. Add the amazing light show and all the smoke and you get something that was truly a sight to see. All of this fit really well with their futuristic, electronic sound as heard on their latest release Transmissions (Razor & Tie).
The crowd seemed to dig it. I had honestly never heard of these guys before but there were definitely some fans in the crowd going crazy and jumping up and down to every song. That being said, it seemed like majority of that crowd was waiting patiently for the headliners of the night, Breaking Benjamin.
Breaking Benjamin is a hard rock band from Pennsylvania that has been around for years. Their first album Saturate came out in 2002 and took the radio waves by storm. Now, thirteen years later, these guys are still putting out music and tearing up the air waves. This tour was in support of their latest release Dark Before Dawn which came out on Hollywood Records in June of this year. That didn't stop them from playing all of the old songs that the crowd wanted to hear.
They were able to fit a couple of cover songs amongst the almost twenty song set list including a medley of "The Imperial March" (Star Wars), "Schism" (Tool), and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana). That medley was made complete with the random storm trooper that graced the stage for a short time. They also covered "I Alone" by Live and "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen. Normally the crowd goes wild for cover songs, but I think last night the audience was much more about the original songs that Breaking Benjamin had to offer.
Breaking Benjamin play for well over an hour and seemed to quench the crowd's thirst for a good old fashioned rock show.
