Groovin' the Moo 2012

Read More Groovin' the Moo Groovin' the Moo is an annual festival across Australia. It started in 2005, and is going strong in 2011 with a healthy lineup.

It’s here again already? Groovin the Moo, our favourite regional touring festival is about to take off around Australia. After last year, we’re super excited to spend another day hanging out in downtown Maitland at one of the most easy going events of the year and again they’ve managed to get a pretty amazing set of bands to play.

 Canyons

Modular’s duo the Canyons were established industry entities prior to their sea change from Perth to Sydney. As label bosses, they are credited with discovering Tame Impala, and as producers they have remixed the likes of Ladyhawke, Empire of The Sun and The Lost Valentinos. Their new single on Modular records (home of The Presets & Klaxons etc) “My Rescue” features vocals from Pond's main man and Tame Impala guitarist Nick Allbrook, the track sounds like David Bowie meeting LCD's James Murphy, bare-foot, and dancing on hot sand.

 Beni

Bang Ganger Beni was one half of highly successful production duo ‘Riot In Belgium’. His productions and live sets have won him some fan boys in the shape of super luminaries Tiga and 2manydjs. As a solo artist, his remix skills have beencalled upon by the likes of Le Roux and Sneaky Sound System.

 

Holly Throsby

Not related to the previous event, but something worth mentioning nonetheless...... Sydney solo musician, Holly Throsby, has been off the radar for white some time now. Touring in Europe, the US, Canada and Australia. She’s now back with a new album, Team. The first single off this album and the name of her forthcoming Australia tour is called “Here Is My Co-Pilot”. See the film clip (and check out the amazing choreography) for it below.
