Not to be confused with the two brothers from Bleach, Bleached are basically two sisters, Jennifer and Jessie, who has a thing for 70s porn. I saw Bleached last year and I went on record to say that I really like their music.

The Clavin sisters are taking their '77 punk rock attitude on the road again. They have an upcoming album called Ride Your Heart, coming out April 2nd, 2013, via Dead Oceans.

Trivia: I didn't know this, but apparently the sisters were also in a now-defunct band called Mika Miko (which we previously mentioned).

BLEACH BLONDE facebook.com Bleach Blonde is a brand new band - from their biography, it lists "less than six months ago"! Not even a yearling! The Denver-based alt-rockers recently posted an acoustic version of their song, "Sea Mint Pastel", over at youtube.com. This is taken from their self-titled EP, which is out now on Rise Records. Expect a full length sometime later in 2013. Trivia: Their name comes from Venice Beach and Nirvana, and not from L'oreal.

BEACH 119 beach119.com/ Remember Superstorm Sandy? In case you already forgot, there is a forthcoming documentary short called "Beach 119" (watch the trailer on Youtube). The documentary follows a tribe of survivors from the Rockaway Peninsula in the aftermath of Sandy. The documentary short has been submitted for consideration to various 2013 spring film festivals. The Beach 119th Street Angels group was founded by Marcie Allen and Jessica Beutler, who directed the documentary. The team raised over $100,000 to help purchase generators, heaters, kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, meals and drinks, etc.

DIRTY BEACHES blogspot.com Berlin-based Dirty Beaches (Alex Zhang Hungtai) came on my radar last year when he released some split with Xiu Xiu. He has a new double album, Drifters/Love Is the Devil coming out this year (May 21st, 2013) via ZOO Music. The album(s) were recorded between Montreal and Berlin in the winter of 2012, and Hungtai said that the music were "the most honest piece of music I've ever written."
