Bad Things just finished their North American tour, ending the tour at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis last night, August 9.
The thing about the band is that it features lead guitarist Shaun White, yes that snowboarder-turn-skateboarder-turn-guitarist. White proves, once again, that he has the talent to do whatever the F he wants. The kid will probably take up golfing next and be amazing at it.
The Japhies, originally scheduled to appear, canceled the show at the last minute due to their singer's sudden hospitalization on Thursday.
Anyway, that left Bad Things to play slightly earlier than expected. Considering that the band is really new, they didn't have a lot of songs. Their set (as you can see in the setlist section) was eight songs with a bonus song for the encore and a cover of The Stooges' "Search And Destroy".
You would think that the band would make a big deal with mentioning Shaun White, but instead the spotlight centered around singer Davis LeDuke and sometime on the drummer Lena Zawaideh (who occasionally sings on songs, such as "Caught Inside" and "Bury").
Their best song on their set was the finale, "Saturday Night", which had a lot of good energy. By this time, I think LeDuke felt comfortable on stage, especially after he asked the yakkers in front to shut up while he's singing. Once that was off his chest, it felt like he really energize to 'party' like it was Saturday night, even though it's still Friday for us.
Anyway, Bad Things just ended their tour. I believe they have a 7" out called Anybody, which is the lead single from their self-titled debut album out in October 8th on Warner Bros. Records.
