BASH & POP
at 7th Street Entry
Thursday, 01/12/17, 8pm ($75)
first-avenue.com
The last time we saw Tommy Stinson in September 2015, we noted that he played a few Bash & Pop songs on his encore. Many of the Replacements fans in the audience just loved hearing those B&P songs.
After 22 years, Stinson decided to resurrect the name. When asked why, he explained, “The first B&P album was rootsy, very rock n’ roll and as the new stuff started to come together, it felt like that. Also, as I was playing rough mixes of some of these new recordings for friends, many said it reminded them of the B&P record … so it just seemed to make sense.”
What can you expect from the show? It’s really unpredictable, because Stinson will play whatever he wants (sometime confusing the other band members). We’re pretty sure he won’t play any ‘Mats songs... but you never know. That’s part of the fun when you see Tommy Stinson.
NOTE: For this particular show, you can only buy tickets via Pledge Music... but at least you will also get to party with the band for their post-show.
The So So Glos to open.
