You know that we love The Fall here, so we’re devastated to hear that Mark E Smith has died at the age of 60, according to bbc.co.uk.
It’s funny to think that Smith was only 60, because I thought he was 60 when I got into The Fall, hearing Smith’s unique vocal styling for the first time in the early 90s. No one can quite sing like Mark E. Smith.
To be honest, although I love some of the Fall’s songs and albums, I could never keep up with their prolific output as a band. From 1979 to 2017, the band released 32 studio albums!
The last time we talked about The Fall was when they released Live: Uurop VIII-XII Places in Sun & Winter, Son in 2014, and we noted that “The Fall: always the same, always different”. We also said that at Mark E Smith’s age, that he won’t tour America.
