HALEY BONAR

Haley Bonar will be playing a free show at the Sociable Cider Werks next Sunday. The event is free, however there are a few catches: 1) I believe you have to be over 21 to attend as there are alcohol involved, 2) you must have a valid credit card to verify your name as the ticket holder, and 3) it is limited to one ticket per person.
We reviewed Bonar’s latest album Impossible Dream (GNDwire / Spit Comet / Memphis Industries) and wrote, “With Impossible Dream’s skillful interplay of light and dark elements in these 10 songs, each with its own unique story, the incredibly talented Haley Bonar offers an unobstructed view inside her heart and soul.”
Cults to open. We’ve caught Cults a few times on tour, and every time we saw them, they sold out First Avenue... so expect a good turnout to this event.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to hear that Jah Wobble & The Invaders of the Heart will be in Minnesota this Sunday, September 25th. This is Jah Wobble’s first US tour in over a decade! We are very lucky to get Wobble to stop by St Paul, as one of his seven stops in the U.S.
The first time I heard of Jah Wobble and the Invaders of the Heart, it wasn’t because he was the bass player to PiL (Public Image Ltd), it was actually a song called ‘Visions of You’, featuring Sinead O’Connor in 1992. The song’s lyrics and melody got stuck in my head ever since.
Realistically, he’ll probably won’t perform the song (he’ll need at least a girl singer to sing O’Connor’s part), but expect to hear plenty of tunes from Wobble’s new album Everything Is No Thing.
