HALSEY
at Varsity Theater
Friday, 11/06/2015, 6pm ($20/Sold Out)
varsitytheater.org
You may recall we first caught Halsey (aka Ashley Frangipane) with The Kooks in October 2014 and wrote, "I've seen a lot of bands in my time, and I have to say, keep an eye out for this one." And as predicted, Halsey has two big hit singles on her hands, "Ghost" and "New Americana" (from her debut album Badlands available on Astralwerks)... and as a result, she completely sold out her entire USA tour.
As a bonus, here is another photo of Halsey from her recent appearance in June 2015 with Imagine Dragons.

CITY AND COLOUR
at First Ave
Saturday, 11/07/2015, 8pm ($31.50)
first-avenue.com
City and Colour (aka Dallas Green) will be in town on Saturday, in support of his highly anticipated new album If I Should Go Before You (Dine Alone Records). The record recently debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 Chart, #3 on the Vinyl Albums Chart and #4 on the Independent Albums Chart.
Thanks to the success of his new album, his shows have been selling out across the country (but to be fair, we wrote he sells out shows in 2011).
Opening up the show will be Hurray for the Riff Raff (aka Alynda Segarra), who we previously saw at the inaugural Festival Palomino.

PARKWAY DRIVE
at The Cabooze
Sunday, 11/08/2015, 5pm ($25)
cabooze.com
Parkway Drive is an Australian metalcore band that I've been listening to for years. I cannot put into words how excited I am to finally see these guys live.
What sets these guys apart from most other metalcore bands is that they do not use clean vocals... ever. Most bands try to make their music accessible to everyone by adding clean and calm vocals. These guys really don't care and that's why I love them. Their music is heavy and unforgiving and I can only imagine that their live show is close to the same.
Parkway Drive will be touring in support of their newest release Ire which just came out on Epitaph Records earlier this month. They will be playing at The Cabooze in Minneapolis on Sunday, November 8th.
Thy Art Is Murder and Miss May I to open.
