We would love to see Huey Lewis And The News at Mystic Showroom (in Prior Lake), but it's too expensive and it's just about sold out ... and if you're in the same boat, check out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard on Saturday, September 5th.
I previously wrote that King Gizzard had "one of the most ridiculous band names", and I still stand behind that.
Gizzard will be out promoting their new album Paper Mâché Dream Balloon, available November 13th on ATO Records.
Mild High Club and Tongue Party to open the show.

8/27 - Visalia, CA - The Cellar Door
8/28 - Felton, CA - Don Quixote's

at First Avenue

We originally didn't see Minneapolis on the D'Angelo "The Second Coming Tour" 2015 US summer dates... but it would seem he finally added us because he was in the area (Chicago) for North Coast Music Festival. Of course, the First Avenue show is sold out. It should be noted that First Avenue is the only non-Festival date, so it should be a very special show.
If you haven't been keeping up, earlier this year, we wrote that Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum selling singer released Black Messiah (#1 on iTunes in 29 countries). This was a great comeback, having been away from the music industry for nearly 15 years.
Also in the news, D'Angelo's debut solo album Brown Sugar and sophomore Voodoo have been re-mastered and re-issued for the first time on 180g vinyl last Friday, August 21st.
D'Angelo and his band The Vanguard continues on their "The Second Coming Tour".
