There are a couple of things about this upcoming Helado Negro show on March 21st, 2015.
First of all, the show is part of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music Series, a program that W♥M love and support. The whole goal of this music program is to showcase classical music to a much broader audience, usually through very unique presentations.
Second, the show will be held at the new Ordway Concert Hall in Saint Paul, which is currently undergoing construction. In about two months from now, the Ordway will re-open... just in time to celebrate the Ordway's 30th anniversary! What a great way to celebrate 2015.
Third, with Helado Negro's Island Universe Story, Helado Negro have requested these all-star collaborators to join him to create his vision. Among the guests are Lætitia Sadier (Stereolab), singer-songwriter Adron, keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco) and percussionist Jason Trammell (David Byrne), with new arrangements by composers Trey Pollard (Matthew E White Band) and Jason Ajemian (Marc Ribot).

Los Angeles (by the way of Sydney, Australia) The Black Ryder will be releasing The Door Behind The Door (The Anti-Machine Machine). The record lands February 24, 2015, but you can pre-order it on Amazon.
One of the reason why their second album took so long to come out was because of the big move to the US, with vocalist / songwriter Aimee Nash adding, "Since releasing our first record we left Australia, toured America, relocated to Los Angeles, all the while trying to find our feet & get somewhat settled enough to write & produce this record. It also took some time to find the right scenario for releasing our music as well."
The record is done and dusted, and ready to ship this February.

As you know, I am a Pixies fan, and their lead singer Frank Black (aka Black Francis).
I think the story behind the name Frank Black and the Catholics was that he couldn't use his name after he left 4AD ... so he continued to released music as 'Frank Black and the Catholics'. Now for the first time, the complete recording of all Frank Black and the Catholics will collected in a box set called Frank Black and the Catholics: The Complete Recordings from Cooking Vinyl.
In addition to the band's 6 studio albums, they are throwing in a seventh CD called True Blue, which are basically recordings from the Black Letter Days album sessions.

Black Messiah peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums charts in a total of 29 markets worldwide including US, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and more. We actually wrote about The Black Keys too much last year, so I'm actually avoiding them (plus they actually don't need any PR). Instead, let's look at their opening band, blues-rockers, The Dough Rollers.
The Dough Rollers will be supporting the Black Keys throughout their European tour. The NYC based band are fresh off their tour with English rock star, Billy Idol for his Kings & Queens of The Underground European tour (who we previously also wrote about).
The Dough Rollers' latest EP Gone Baby Gone is available now on vinyl via Third Man Records. Jack White named lead guitarist Jack Byrne as his favorite new young gun guitarist. Most recently the rockers have been featured on Late Night with David Letterman, Inked, Rolling Stone, KEXP, The AV Club and more.

Blackest Ever Black record announced their latest release: Felix K's Tragedy of the Commons 12" record.
Felix has been active in the underground of his native Berlin since the late ’90s, often working incognito. His roots are in drum-and-bass, and he has repeatedly advanced and invigorated the genre with his own adroitly minimalist, dub-centered productions, making important lateral connections to austere Hard Wax-school techno and more abstract electronic realms.
