Can't afford to see the real Prince (or the fact that his touring schedule aren't really announced until a few hours before a gig...), well look to Los Angeles' Maya Rudolph (SNL alumni) and Gretchen Lieberum as Princess, a Prince cover band.
Speaking to NPR, Rudolph explained her discovery of Prince, "I remember dancing in socks, on the rug and on the bed. It was just the jammiest, funkiest, most exciting, interesting. ... I'd just never really heard that before... I fell in love with Prince when I saw Purple Rain, the movie. That's really what cracked it wide open."
The duo recently celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Purple Rain at a sold-out show at the Largo in Los Angeles (06 June 2014); check out that dream setlist! Party like it's 1984.

Dublin-based Princess band is said to have a style similar to Deerhunter, Dinosaur Jr, and My Bloody Valentine... so they are very 90s. The Irish band recently announced their brand new single "Neverlook", available this June 23rd, 2014. You can preview the song via Soundcloud.

Princess Music are Tyler Ludwick on guitars and vocals, Rachel Sliker on violin, Psyche Cassandra Dunkhase on cello, and Robin Chestnut on drums. They play chamber orchestra pop music and their latest album is called Odobenidae and it's described as "undulating between the dungeonesque depths of classic rock grime, and the playful heights of bantering woodwinds and strings."
