Together Pangea (or rather their preferred spelling of together PANGEA) is currently on tour in support of Badillac, out now on Harvest Records.
Singer/songwriter William Keegan started recording his music on 4-track tape as a teenager and by 2008, had a thing going with his buddies (Danny Bengston, Erik Jimenez, and Cory Hanson) to play CalArts and house parties in the Santa Ana area.
The Los Angeles band signed to Seattle-based label Lost Sound Tapes, then to Burger Records and Olfactory. Currently, they are one of the few bands that really broke out, signing to Harvest Records, which is subsidiary of major label Capitol Music Group/EMI.
Opening up for all the 2014 tour dates are Mozes and the Firstborn from Belgium. Created by lead singer Melle Dielesen, who spent some time living in London and searching for a name for his music project, he came up with Mozes and the Firstborn, based on watching Dreamworks' Prince of Egypt (1998).
It wasn't long before he met drummer Raven Aartsen, bassist Corto Blommaert, and they released their first EP I Got Skills. A few years later, the final band member Ernst-Jan van Doorn was added to complete Mozes and the Firstborn.
The foursome's debut self-titled LP came out last week (February 11th) on Burger Records.
Together Pangea and Mozes And The Firstborn tour:
I didn't list their respective SXSW appearance(s), because it's still being finalized. But yeah, both bands will be playing at various venues in Austin, Texas, around March 6th to 16th.
