DJ Cassidy's single "Calling All Hearts" hits iTunes today (February 18th). I just heard the song via soundcloud.com. The track is the preceding single his debut album Paradise Royale, which is set for this Spring on Columbia Records.
About this song, "Calling All Hearts", features vocals from Jessie J and Robin Thick - but also included on the song are: R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige, Passion Pit, Cee Lo Green, John Legend, Estelle, Chromeo, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland, and Usher. Playing in the music background is members of Earth Wind & Fire (Verdine White, Phillip Bailey, and Larry Dunn) and Kool & The Gang (Robert "Kool" Bell, Khalis Bayyan, and George Brown), plus Nile Rodgers, Wah Wah Watson, Ray Parker Jr, Jerry Hey amongst others.
What set DJ Cassidy apart from all the DJs in the world, is that he doesn't use samples, instead composing and writing his own unique music with original vocals and lyrics (read: no covers).
Due to the President's Day holiday and the slowness of the post office, I did get these fun promotional DJ Cassidy 'Conversation Hearts' candies in the mail. The hearts have "Calling All Hearts" and "DJ Cassidy" text written on it. I think these promos are super cute and reminds me of other promos that's been sent to me in the past, like Sleeper's coffee or the Radiohead's frisbee.
Cassidy is currently touring with Robin Thicke, who is supporting his sixth studio album Blurred Lines (Star Trak Entertainment/Interscope Records).
