The last time we saw Hunter Valentine in Minneapolis, the band was riding high as being regular cast members on The Real L Word on the Showtime. The show undoubtedly brought the band to a national level, so their show was had a great turnout.
Since 2012, the Canadian band's bassist Veronica Sanchez left the band and is now replaced by Leanne Bowes (who joined the band in early 2013).
The band is currently on the road with Girl in a Coma (a band we like), Krissy Krissy, and 80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper!

Speaking of Girl in a Coma, the last time we heard from these San Antonio girls was their cover of Martha and the Vadellas' "Heatwave" was used in JC Penney's national ad campaign. Since then, the band's been on constantly tour, including opening up for the legendary Iggy Pop and The Smashing Pumpkins.
Did I mention that they were constantly on tour? It's true, the trio is still on tour in support of their album Exits & All The Rest (winning the 2012 Independent Music Award for Best Indie/Alt Album) with Hunter Valentine and Krissy Krissy. I don't know if Hunter Valentine will actually be at the Minneapolis show (09/30), but we'll find out next week.

It's been a great year for ZZ Ward, having sold-out many of her shows throughout the country. The last time we saw her, it was at The Basilica Block Party, where she played tracks from her soulful debut album Til The Casket Drops, plus a cover of Son House's "Grinnin' In Your Face".
