HANDS

This coming Tuesday, June 11th, Hands from Los Angeles will bring their indie rock sound to 7th Street Entry, in Minneapolis. Founded in 2012 by Geoff Halliday (vocals, keyboards) and Ryan Sweeney (guitar) they moved from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. Soon drummer, Sean Hess, and bassist, Alex Staniloff added to the lineup.
Time Magazine featured Hands in a list of "11 bands you don't know (but should)." Hands played at significant events such as SXSW, DeLuna Fest, Echo Park, and CMJ.and was featured in ABC News', 7 Emerging Artists On The Rise article. March 25, 2013, the Guardian named Hands as the New Band Of The Day.
Hands recently released full-length album which should please fans of Phoenix, Passion Pit and Local Natives. They also have that electronica sound of bands similar to MGMT and Foster the People. The name of the new EP, Synesthesia, implies a reference to the neurological condition wherein " 'sufferers' mix up sensations so that they might hear a color or smell a sound." Like many other indie bands that want to believe their music induces in their listeners. The first single, Trouble, is inspiring and fluid. Most of the songs are catchy, yet dally into a 60's psychedelic ilk. After hearing Synesthsia, I am excitedly curious to see how they perform live. Hands seem to have a big sound for the little stage at 7th Street Entry. Hope to see you down there.

THE GORGEOUS HANDS

Austin's The Gorgeous Hands are brothers Chris and Rusty Galis, multi-instrumentalist Charlie Magnone, and drummer/percussionist Cullen Faulk. I am assuming they all have gorgeous hands.
They are currently on tour in support of their Tender album.
