Wooden Indian Burial Ground (with Night Beats headlining) are coming to Minneapolis this Sunday, May 12th. The Portland-based duo are touring in support of a double-a-side "Holy Mountain" b/w "Sunbeams and the Cosmic Ascent to Nowheresville". The single will be available on 10'' Vinyl (with digital) on May 21st via Mon Amie Records of Brooklyn, New York.

You may recall that we covered them in 2010 and the singer came on saying that Minneapolis was "possibly the coldest place we've ever been to"? Good news: it finally stopped snowing last week.

Lots of shows on this Tuesday. First of all The Thermals are playing 7th Street and Limp Bizkit - that Nookie-loving band - is playing at the Varsity Theater. Since we've already mentioned Thermals, I thought I'd tell you about Joshua Radin's show at the Dakota Jazz Club this Tuesday, May 14th.

If Radin's name sound familiar, that's because we semi-recently covered his co-headlining tour with A Fine Frenzy late last year. From seeing him live, he loves Minneapolis.

According to his website, he is handpicking "smaller than usual" venues for his "Wax Wings VIP Tour", which is really meant to give his fans a small and intimate performance. Most of these venues have sold out.

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS

We are covering the Presets/Dragonette show on Wednesday, although I am gutted that I won't personally be attending their show, or am I attending of Montreal at the Cedar Cultural Center….

Instead, I'm doing a non-music event, seeing a preview for Star Trek: Into Darkness. As I've previously mentioned, I am a bit of a Trekkie, so expect a review of the movie on Thursday.

Synopsis:

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

We don't have any shows on Thursday, but we're making it up for Friday as we're covering a ton of shows: Youth Lagoon/Majical Cloudz at Fine Line Music Café, Shout Out Louds and Haerts at Varsity Theater , Laura Stevenson and Field Mouse at Triple Rock Social Club (maybe), and Reliant K and Hellogoodbye at Mill City, but my choice will probably be Telekinesis and Deep Sea Diver at 7th Street Entry.

You might recall that we covered Telekinesis' show in Manchester (England) a few years ago.

It looks like the band is back with Dormarion, which came out earlier last month (April 2nd) on our favorite label, Merge Records.
