Low and members of Trampled By Turtles Saturday, March 23rd, at 8:00 p.m. SOLD OUT! Low has made ten studio albums and their music is known for its slow, quiet, sometimes melancholy and usually pretty quality. Their latest, The Invisible Way, will be released by Sub-Pop Records. Read More Low We've written about Low before, they're from Duluth. I've seen them at First Avenue before, and from what I can remember, I believe the singer pulled out a chair and sat and play the whole time ...…

On Saturday, March 23rd, Low performed backed by members of Trampled by Turtles (bassist Tim Saxhaug, banjo player Davel Carroll, and violinist Ryan Young) at the Fitzgerald Theater. These two powerful Duluth-based groups sounded incredible together and the addition of the TBT members added a depth and richness to Low’s music, filling the quiet spaces in the songs perfectly. The intimacy and acoustic perfection of the Fitzgerald Theater was an ideal setting for the show and the audience certainly appreciated it, focusing intently on the music, quietly absorbing the emotion in the room, and basking in the warmth of the
evening.
This amazing performance was in support of the group’s 10th album The Invisible Way, which some say is their best album to date, a big accomplishment for a group that has been together for 20 years. During the 2-hour long show, they performed 10 of the 11 songs from their new album as well as some songs from the band’s early days. The show also included a 10-minute post intermission interview by MPR’s Mark Wheat. The entire show, including video, can be streamed on The Current. Do it. Trust me, it’s worth it.
