Martin Gore and company announced their 13th studio album called Delta Machine to be out worldwide March 26th on Columbia Records. Carl reviewed their previous album, Sounds of the Universe, commenting on their versatility: "this band has continued to evolve, grow and learn from their past so they are able to continue to move forward."
With this upcoming release, Gore confirmed it as much, "Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It’s just got something magical about it."
Dave Gahan added, "With this release we've completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we'll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can't wait for all of our fans to hear it."
Along with the regular Delta Machine album, DM is releasing an exclusive Deluxe Edition with four new tracks and a 28 page hardcover book with longtime photographer/filmmaker Anton Corbijns photos.
Be one of the first fans to experience the new album with the preceding single, "Heaven", to unveil on VEVO next week, February 1st.

The Delta Saints are Ben Ringel (vocals/dobro), Dylan Fitch (guitar), David Supica (bass), Ben Azzi (drums), and Stephen Hanner (tour only - harmonica). They are a Nashville-based blues-rock group, and their debut LP, Death Letter Jubilee, was released last week, January 15th (February 15 in Europe).

Iris DeMent is an American singer/songwriter. NPR said her latest album, Sing the Delta, her first album in seven years, one of the top 10 Americana album of 2012.
The Mission Creek Festival, a Music Festival I wrote about last year, is happy to announced that DeMent is one of their headliner for their 2013 lineup (happening April 2-7 in venues throughout downtown Iowa City.)
