Here's a band that I thought broke up ages ago: Ivy.
The New York band is still around, they released an album, All Hours, in 2011, but recently (August 2012) unveiled "Lost in the Sun" video via YouTube.
It's been a long time since I listened to them (since Guestroom and In the Clear).
The last time I saw this band, they were on tour in support of In the Clear, although if you look at their setlist, they did some oldies, but goodies.
My favorite Ivy album is Apartment Life, which was the first album that I own by them on cassette - so naturally I loved those songs they did live ("These Are the Things About You", "Get Out of the City", "Ba Ba Ba"). I was waiting for "I've Got a Feeling" and "You Don't Know Anything" (my two favorite Ivy songs), but, sadly, they never did those songs.
Surprisingly (or not surprisingly because I only love their "In the Shadows"/'moonshadow' song), no songs from Realistic were played.
At the time, I don't think they had any In the Clear album, so I ended up buying Long Distance at their 400 Bar show, since it was the only album at the time that I didn't have.
Ivy looked and sounded great, especially singer Dominique Durand, who looked fantastic, as always.
I don't think Ivy's come back to Minneapolis since 2005, I could be wrong.
