Sister duo Lennon & Maisy is a popular YouTube sensation (with nearly 20 million views) and recurring roles on the new hit ABC series "Nashville" performed their first-ever concert today, October 23rd, via Stageit.
This is the first time I've used Stageit, which is a web-based video platform that lets artists create paid live performances.
I was expecting a live stream of a typical concert stage and multiple cameras, but in reality, it was a little more like a one-way video chat with Lennon & Maisy in their living room.
Video was "web" quality 4:3, as you can see from the screen prints. You can blow it full screen, which looked awful with large digital artifacts. I suspect it was a combination of things: my computer's CPU, the limitations of streaming live, or source material (it seems to me they were streaming via a laptop webcam.)
Another problem is the feedback via the chat windows. With nearly 400 people asking questions at the same time, and the window was scrolling so fast in real time, no one can catch what anyone was saying. The two sisters had the hardest time trying to read when they started their Q&A break.
Some of the questions they answered were:
As you can see from the setlist, they only performed cover songs (with the exception of the Christmas song.)
Highlight was a special guest appearance by Matthew Perryman Jones who showed up and sang and played acoustic for "Savior."
I don't know if this is the actual title, but "Christmas Coming Home" is a song that Lennon & Maisy just recorded in the studio. They premiered the song on their live Stageit show. I'm sure the song will be made available around Christmas time this year, so look for it this holiday.
For the finale, their mom and dad joined them on the couch and they sang Paul McCartney's "Baby's Request." A fitting way to end their set, "just one more time and then we'll go to bed."

Favorite food: their aunt's Sheppard's Pie
Favorite music: Old country and Huey Lewis and the News
Boyfriend: No and definitely no.
Beatles: Lennon is named after John Lennon and Maisy's middle name is Jude.
When they started singing: 5 and 2 years old
Working on Nashville: a dream come true.
Current grade: 8th grade (13 years old) and 2nd grade (8 years old)
