What a night at the 400 Bar! Mr. Conor Oberst decided to play a gig with his original band the Desaparecidos. Two songs into the set my shirt was off and the head banging and shirt waving started. Imagine seeing Bright Eyes in a tiny dive bar. Exactly. Now I've never been a die hard Bright Eyes fan, but after seeing them in New Orleans last fall; I had to be at this gig. Conor brings that showmanship to the table every night. He's got a great clean-cut voice to the point where you can always hear and understand the lyrics even if you're drunk, "I think"?
He sure felt like home at the 400 Bar thanks to the Sullivan brothers who have built a great relationship with the iconic rocker. Managing and ultimately jumpstarting his career, Tom and Billy Sullivan have been there since day one with Conor. It's always nice playing in front of a home-type crowd. Maybe that explains why these garage rockers were jumping off speakers and shredding the night away with their guitars. I wouldn't say the Desaparecidos were better than Bright Eyes but they sure brought a more face paced approach, which I thoroughly loved.

# 2 Rocking out with all the cool Minneapolis Bloggers and Photographers (Erik Thompson, Kyle Matteson, Erik Hess). Vu where were you?
# 3 Almost getting a change to talk Conor Oberst after the gig, enjoyed the Fat Tire beer while waiting.
