The weekend is almost here. Today is Friday, so look for Amy & Emily at the Rock for Pussy benefit concert at First Avenue. I will be heading into St Paul to see Caroline Smith.
Saturday, we're taking a trip east to Stillwater to see Rock the Vine music/wine tasting festival. Fortunately, because one of the bands starts at 12:30, we have to get there on time! Stay tuned for our road trip updates.

Man, this looks so awesome, free live concerts every weekend, non-stop, through Labor Day at Universal City's Universal CityWalk's "5 Towers" concert venue. It starts tonight, June 8th, with performances by The Vampire Diaries' Kat Graham and hosted by celebrity stalker Perez Hilton.
Other stars scheduled to appear are American Idol's James Durbin and The Voice's Vicci Martinez, DEV, Tyrese (from Far East Movement)… but it looks like, according to their Spotlight Schedule, there will be lots of DJ battles.
Anyway, it looks like loads of fun, and it's too bad we're in Minneapolis.

Max's Kansas City started yesterday (June 7), but you can still catch this even through June 10th at the Bowery Electri (in New York). The 2012 Max's Kansas City Alumni Reunion organized by one of the original bookers of Max's, the legendary Peter Crowey.
Tickets are $20 at the door.
All show are at Bowery Electric except the Saturday After Hours party which is at Arlene's Grocery.

Baby Monster's City of Lovers EP came out last Tuesday (June 5th). They are a duo (Daniel Sternbaum and Marty Larson Xu) that's known for popular remixes for Gorillaz, Ellie Goulding and Foster The People, etc.
If you want a taste of the EP, you can head over to Under the Radar to hear "Hitchhiker".
The only question I have is: which city is the city of lovers? The two apparently lives in two different cities, but continues to write music with each other.
