ARE YOUR MEDS MAKING YOUR SICK? by Robert S. Gold
hunterhouse.com
I have my concerns that I may be a hypochondriac. That concern itself is typical of a hypochondriac. The book "Are Your Meds Making You Sick?" plays a little on that quiet gnawing fear, that fear that whatever we are taking to make ourselves better is actually making us worse.
I will give kudos to the author, Robert Steven Gold, RPh, MBA, he does try to make it an interesting read by presenting each drug interaction as a story. Being the aforementioned self diagnosed hypochondriac, I can find bits and pieces of each case that I can relate to. Admittedly though, I am not a professed detective. Instead of stopping at each mystery and pondering the fun times, I just power through and read the solution.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to the average healthy young reader of WeHeartMusic. It reads much like the continuing education courses that I take online for my tech license. This certainly would be helpful for someone who is taking care of an elderly patient or who is themselves taking a dozen medications. All in all, it's a nice cautionary tale; obviously not a substitution for normal healthcare. The author himself repeats over and over again to consult your doctor. But who has the time to phone their doctor every other week to make sure they are not falling victim to a horrible reaction? I don't regret having read it and the book does put things in layman's terms so I'll just leave it at that.

We're Not Gonna Take It! NO! We all grew up hearing Twisted Sister on the radio.
The man behind the band, Dee Snider, has a few projects under his belt: a new album, Dee Does Broadway, and his first ever autobiography, "Shut Up and Give Me the Mic", both to be released on May 8th via Razor & Tie Records and Gallery Books, respectively.
Snider will be doing a small book signing tour:
