Formerly known as Gobble Gobble, a band that sounds like it was born from a bad Thanksgiving family get together (even though they're Canadians). Well the turkey is dead, and hatch from its golden egg is a new band called Born Gold.
Leader Cecil Frena explains "We have been slowly coaxing this caterpillar into a butterfly with our fists. Check it out, girl - a new face to fit both our past to date and the futuresex we are slowly growing into. Stand before a mirror, hold your palm over your right eye, and repeat Born Gold six times."
The band just premiered their song "Decimate Everything" on Pitchfork and they are currently on tour:

According to her biography, she's originally from the East Coast, but currently doing music in the Northwest area. Apparently, she's the bassist from powerpop band Visqueen.

Gold Beach's album, Habibti, was released earlier this month (9/6/2011).
According to their biography, this band is a two-year musical experiment between two BFF, Michael Winningham and Tony Daugherty.
David Brown, of the NPR program Texas Music Matters, called their album "one of the best records of 2011".
They're playing around Texas.
