I saw Tron: Legacy at the IMAX theater in 3D and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the 3D technology. If they can produce that for the home theater, which I'm assuming what all the fuss is about with these expensive 3D TV, I would love to get one of these thing in my house. Too bad entry level will set me back about three grand... Aw, if I had unlimited wealth.
Still, it does make me want to start picking up 3D Bluray, especially if it comes with a regular Bluray version of the film, I wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks to get both version.... already it's pretty commonplace to find these Bluray/DVD combo releases, with the prices only nominal over its single-disc releases.
Anyway, if you get a chance to watch the movie, you'd notice right away that Daft Punk is the duo behind the music! Not only that, but they also appear as robot DJs at the bar with the Clockwork Orange character (I think the song they started in the bar was "End of the Line", before changing the music to better suit the mood). The music is simply awesome, although less electronic than their previous work - but probably has to to do with The London Orchestra producing the classical arrangements.
Trivia: Incidentally, this is probably the first film that Daft Punk worked on that you can take kids to see. Their previous film work includes the Memento-like violent/rape-y movie, Irréversible, and the almost pornographic movie Enter the Void.
