We just had a major snowstorm in Minneapolis, so you know what that means, right? I'm heading into hibernation, my last show will be for KT Tunstall on November 18th at the Epic. I haven't been to that venue in a long time, the last time I was there, I believe it was called The Quest (owned by Prince) and it was for the Manic Street Preachers... so I'm really looking forward to seeing KT perform there.
So, with me staying indoors for the majority of the Winter, I'm preparing myself for some video game madness! Yes, I'm already well into Fallout: New Vegas at the moment. I'm actually just closing out my quest to find Benny at the Tops Casino. I had no idea what I was doing, so I might re-start my character later (especially now that I know where I can upgrade my stats for 4,000 caps each).
Like the other Fallout series, this new game has a ton of old 1930s-1950s songs. I was quite taken with "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins, a tale about a ranger with a "big iron on his hip", who was after an outlaw called Texas Red. I found out the song was originally released under his 1959 album, Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs.
