I've seen Those Darlins live three times now, and each time, they managed to top their previous appearance, so I'm really excited about their upcoming show here, on September 26th. I'm trying to talk a few folks on coming down that Sunday.
They're also releasing a new 7" called Night Jogger exclusively on Record Store Day on September 14th, however you can preview the song as a free download at thosedarlins.com/promo. After I checked it out, it reminds me of the rhythm to "Shakin' All Over".
The cover artwork is actually Nikki Darlins' xray of her broken arm. Legend has it that Nikki was drunk on an epic level and fell off the stage, although I think the truth was she just slipped on some wet grass. I think I prefer the former explanation.
Also, what's really interesting is that Night Jogger features a studio recording of "Funstix Party". This is such a great song, I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't on their debut album. But it's available now on the 7"!
