Junior is a fun, "Redneck" band from Gladewater, Texas. they just released Are We Famous Yet? last month. I don't have their earlier albums, although I suspect their sound probably haven't changed much since their debut, Starving Artists of the Year.
I think these guys sound a little like Blink-182, but kind of a south-Texas style. Most of their songs can be pretty much summed up in these categories: Girls, Parties, and NASCAR. If you're looking for Einstein lyrics, I think you're missing the point of Junior.
There are a few strong singles-type songs off this new album, and "What was I Thinking" was always meant to be the first single for this album. When it came down to it, someone decided to go with "She's so Amazing", probably because it was co-written by Bowling for Soup's Jaret Reddick. I prefer the punchier (and funnier) "What Was I Thinking".
I am including some of the tour dates that they've listed on myspace as well as a link to a six-minute video. If you decide to check it out, you'll see what complete goofballs these guys are. Especially the bit where they exclaimed that Josh Hartnett was their biggest fan and their blatant advertisement for Subway.
PS, who here thinks Kiley Bland looks like Jason Mewes?
