I've been meaning to do this for a while, talk about music magazines that I own. Appropriately enough, we are going to start off with VOX MAGAZINE!
What's in this magazine:
-
VOX MAGAZINE #42 (Mar 1994)
- Therapy?: "Jung, Gifted and Cracked"
- Suede: "I Tugged on Morrissey's Quiff" (7 pages)
- Afghan Whigs: "Whiggin' Out"
- Madchester: a 9-page article on Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Intastella, Charlatans, and, of course, the Soup Dragons!
- Exclusive mini-book on 15 years of Sid Vicious history.
- The usual album and movie reviews
I can't exactly remember why I picked up this magazine. I suppose, I was a pretty big Suede fan, and Brett Anderson being on the cover with a quote like "I told Morrissey to come round for an E" was probably really enticing for me to pick it up.
This issue also came with a free CD, which I can't find, but I know I got it because there is a hand-written note on the magazine that said "it's inside". This was probably written by a Tower Records employee after they bagged the magazine because sometime people would shoplift the free magazine CD. Or sometime for copyright reasons, the free CD are left off the shipments to America.
Looking over the magazine, I would have to say that I'm most excited about the Madchester article. I don't think any of them are around anymore, sans the Charlatans.
Also, I don't know if you've noticed, but there is recording of me saying 'welcome' at the bottom-right of this page.
